Photo Numbering Rollover

Dave Keasey

The weather finally cooperated and I was able to run my multi-battery mapping flights over my 30-odd acres of property.  It didn't go without hitches, mostly my fault, but also a bit of wind pushing the drone around.  Still, I got it done and the photos look really good for stuffing into WebODM.  Still some work to do before I can do that, since it's over 800 photos in RAW format, and ODM doesn't like anything but JPEG.

Anyway, as I looked through the photos, I discovered that when I got to photo number DJI_0999.dng, instead of continuing the sequence, it opened a new folder and started over at DJI_0001.

Is this a DJI thing?  Is it a DroneLink thing?  Or did I do something wrong in setting up the photo numbering?

I've got the photos, and I can deal with the odd numbering, but I sure didn't expect it to roll over at 999 instead of 9999.

This is DJI camera firmware behavior. The only option you have to control it is:

Reset means each time you turn the drone on, each folder will start at 0001

    Thanks, Jim.

I suspected it was a DJI thing.  I was surprised that it rolled over at 999 instead of 9999.  Thankfully, it started a new folder instead of overwriting earlier ones in the original folder.
