Web app crashes while Converting to Waypoints

Martin Drupsteen

When trying to convert a virtual stick mapping project to DJI Waypoints, app.dronelink.com crashes after a few minutes of Analyzing. I tried many different mapping variables: just a square, non-grid map, below 99 waypoints (I estimate around 40) but with a medium sized area of 70 hectares. 50 also crashes, 20ha converts fine. I tried three Windows browsers and a Galaxy Fold 3 Android device.

1) Is this a known bug and is there a workaround?

2) Will a bulkier PC do the trick?

P. S. I absolutely need my drone to continue mapping without a signal: I have a large project pending and RC signal is limited due to EU-dictate.

Can you please share one of the mission plans that causes the issue.

Thanks for looking into it. This is just a new project with a test square map: https://app.dronelink.com/martin-drupsteen/my-first-project/plan/CRwaXkpwojcj27gaNxLL

... Gives an Aw, Snap! after analyzing

You probably saw the large map warning in the issues list, which means you are likely to run into issues such as your browser crashing or it taking forever to load in the native app (this is why we added the warning). Having said that, if you are going to ignore the warning, then you need to throw more hardware at it. I was able to finish the conversion on an M1 iPad Pro in Safari, but it took a few minutes.

That's great to hear, thanks for confirming. I was postponing buying a new system, this helps.

Obviously, we still can't really recommend ignoring the warning in any case.
