Will terrain follow work with waypoint flight plans.

Michael Batchelor
Will terrain follow work with waypoint flight plans. I am using waypoint missions to carry out lineal mapping projects (as corridor mapping not yet available) and looking at transitioning from hobbyists to business subscription

If your referring to Onboard Waypoints then I just tried and it does not give an option of ATL or AGL. One of the many limitations when using Onboard waypoints with a drone which has that capability. Unless I’m missing something.

    Thanks for the response!
No, not using the onboard waypoints. Just pushing what I can get out of the Dronelink waypoint process, which I feel potentially can provide a good alternative as a corridor mapping solution through the use of multiple flight actions (sorry forgot the correct term) for camera action, interval, gimble pitch and drone heading. (It takes a bit of setting up but can provide for a comprehensive flight plan. Working in hobbyists mode I can't explore the terrain follow, but that would finish off the process very nicely.

Having to rely on experience and external calculations to ensure something like the right amount of overlap. (Strip spacing, Altitude, speed and capture rate...)

Waypoint flight plans can use an AGL set of heights, however the AGL used for waypoints is different to that used by mapping component for Terrain follow (AGL), you might find it handy to have a read of this post especially Mikes post in there and also the video he linked where its explained in an early tutorial video

We are currently working on adding a Linear Map component which will include terrain follow. It is in alpha testing right now but if you want to try it and provide feedback, email support@dronelink.com.

Thank you for the offer Jim.

Not sure my skill level is quite there yet to provide quality feedback! Happy to hear that its in the process of implementation!
