Google Pixel 7 and Air 2s: Live Feed from Camera is not showing, only still image of when it first turns on

Martin Cortes

I was running the Beta test app on my Google pixel 3a running Android 12 to fix the take off issue. I got a new phone the pixel 7 running android 13, and it seemed I can still take off with the beta, but I could not edit a flight plan on my phone ( it would say there was no internet) and it had the still image instead of the camera feed. Though when I checked the results of the flight, it did take the top photos straight down like I wanted. I got out of the beta version of the app, and installed the public version, and it looks like I can take off, and edit the flight plans, but the camera still does not show a live stream of what it is doing.

I think there was a similar issue with the Galaxy S21. Anything I can do on my end? Or does this need to be fixed on your end?

Fingers crossed. I love the app and haven't found anything else as friendly to use. No live feed sucks, though.

DJI has provided us with a beta of MSDK 4.17, which has a fix for this issue. Please uninstall Dronelink and download this experimental APK with the beta of 4.17 and let us know if it fixes the issue.

I tried it out this morning, but unfortunately my phone updated to Android 14 last night. Not sure if that's the reason it didn't work, but I'm still not getting any video feed.

Thanks. DJI has indicated there are a few other steps we need to take, so we will post here when that is done.

This is interesting because the video feed has gotten worse and worse for me, but I'm on iOS, with an iPhone 12. DJI MiniSE

Video is balky to nonexistent, photos are slow to show up, for example for Panos.  There is no video problem at all with other apps such DJIFly or Maven (or even Litchi when I had it). So It can't be a hardware problem.

Everything else in DL works fine, mission fly, the map updates, etc.  It's only the video feed that is not there.  And it used to be there, although never very reliable or smooth.

Looking forward to getting this problem fixed, it makes using the app difficult to use.  And that's a pity, as otherwise  it's such a good app.

michael mardis? This is not for IOS. It’s an Android fix for some devices with no live feed. Completely different. If your having issues with that iPhone 12 I’d suggest posting a separate new question with more info since you say it’s getting worse. I use have two iPads and no issues at all.

    Greetings,

I just tried the beta version but it doesn't work on Google Pixel 6A Android 14.

It's not a big problem because I have a HUAWEI tablet, but it would be convenient to have Dronelink on your smartphone.

    Greetings.

To be clear, this thread is about the Dronelink app (MSDKv4 drones) and the Pixel 7/8, Samsung S22/23 (i.e. Android devices) only. Many others have no issues on iOS and our Pixel 6 also has no issues, so if you are having an issue with those devices, or with Dronelink DJI (MSDKv5 drones), please post new bug report threads so we can work it separately.

LOL Sorry about the threajacking lads.  You know how we iPhone users are, always causing trouble. ;)

I'll go look for the iOS section.  But at least you've learned that the video problem isn't unique to a particular device or OS.

Build 279 has the final fix for this. You can download it via the normal beta APK link, or wait for Google to approve it for beta through the play store.

How can I install build 279? The link you provided before seems to not be working anymore.

Or how long does usually takes for an app to be approved by google? It would be nice if it would work for next week.

We were testing on a Pixel 7 (not pro), Android 13. Any other differences you can think of? Anyone else have a 7 pro that can chime in before we order more phones?

    Hello,

I have a Pixel 7 Pro (Android 14) and had the same problem as explained in this topic : https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/11196339970323-Camera-black-on-Pixel-7-Pro

I installed the version 4.8.3 (2279) | Kernel 4.8.1 (I had to take the Legacy DJI Drones version because I use DJI Mini 2) and it works very well ! Thank you very much !
