DJI Mini 2 no video feed

Yente H
I am trying to fly a mission with a Samsung Galaxy A53 and a DJI Mini 2 and it seems to fly, BUT, RTH does not work and there is no video feed ! I tried the fixes from the old forums but nothing seems to work. -DJI mini & fly + Dronelink up to date, also tested with the betas. -Checked permissions -Tried opening in Fly first, then force quit and DL but no succes -Tried pairing from scratch with DL instead of Fly -Tried different video and transmission settings Many thanks in advance !

Hello, thanks for the quick reply. That could be indeed the RTH problem, but for the video feed: It works flawless in the Fly app, but not a single image on DL. everything is indeed up to date and the DL version is atm 4.1.0 (2226)

Just a suggestion and will take no more time. You may already do this way but Start the DJI Fly app and let it completely load as usual. Once everything is up and running as usual and ready to go, force close DJI and then open DL. Can’t hurt to try. Seems like everything else has been tried.

I think the DJI SDK just doesn't work for this particular device for some reason. Reported it to DJI.

DJI has acknowledged that this is a bug on their end and has not given a timeline for fixing it. If you don't want to wait: refund.

RE the RTH are you more than 20 meters away when you try to get it to RTH, re the video feed, do you have video in DJI fly, you say everything is up to date, so you're on the latest mini2 firmware (without any hacks) & what version of dronelink

Hey Martin, I've been through all the support posts but cannot find a solution. I was hoping you could look into it more specifically, please ?

My bad - so many people ask this same question without looking at the FAQ that I didn't even bother to read the previous posts.

    For refunds: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500000580482-How-do-I-cancel-my-account-and-or-get-a-refund-

If you want to keep trying, not sure if you have done this yet but I would try a different cable and/or different mobile device to see if we can isolate the problem. Maybe also check latest firmware (I saw Martin suggested it before but didn't see a confirmation from you).

    Hey Jim,
I tried 2 other cables, 1 brand new and no succes (note that in the DJI fly app I DO get video feed). Also tried with my older but up-to-date Galaxy A31 and same result. Firmware and software are all up to date as well.
When I move the drone I do get telemetry data so the connection is working, it's just the video that's missing.

If you switch to Photo mode and then back to Video does it wake it up?

Hey Jim, that doesn't do the trick. Never saw any live image from the camera in Dronelink at all. Maybe I can install some debugging software to your liking on my device so you can dig into your code to see where things go wrong ?

The only way to really resolve this issue is to get access to your drone physically.

Based on the description, it sounds like you didn't grant access to all permissions, but I know you already said you did. Since you are the only user reporting any issues right now and we can't reproduce the issue on our hardware, a refund might be the only option here.

I have to admit that that's the last route I want to take. I wrote that yesterday in frustration, not knowing the work you must have put in as an individual. I did my research now and I apologize.

As I am the only one experiencing the issue there has to be something wrong on my side. 3 updates of the Google play services also did not work but I'll keep you updated with my progress.

Thanks for the help so far Jim & Martin.

On this page, what do you mean by number 6, using the OTG port ?

Many times Martin, many versions tried...
As for the Android version, that would be android 12, with the Google play system-update of 1 october (latest).

I just activated developer mode on android, maybe this opens something up for a solution.

Fair enough, really scratching my head here now, as I fly mini2 without any problems using samsung devices running android 12 (Z fold 2, Tab 7FE 5G)

Yente. I’ve been following this post and seems like you have done everything possible. This is very strange and as Martin stated he uses the Mini 2 with Android as well as many others. I’m sure this is very frustrating. Since the DJI App works fine I doubt this will help but can’t hurt to try. I’d refresh the firmware using DJI Assistant 2 (consumer drone series) software. Doesn’t take long and as I stated since DJI App works I doubt it will fix the issue. At least you will eliminate the slightest possibility that it wasn’t a firmware issue. I don’t understand how software works but why not try it since you have done everything else already. Good luck.

Also your question about number 6 OTG Port as mentioned in the help article. The Mini only has the one connection on the RC-N1 controller so that’s not an issue.

Hey Mike, thanks for getting involved. Coincidentally, I just tried the firmware flash moments before you posted. It did not solve anything sadly...

Bummer. 🥲 I realize this may be a pain but do you have a friend or neighbor who uses IOS device. Just curious but if it works then it must be something in the Android device settings somewhere. This is Really baffling.

Hey all, I don't know how to tag everyone, but I wanted to let you know that I got it working on an old Motorola phone running Android 9. It's a low performance device so not a long term solution though. (And ignoring the cracked screen haha)

So the problem seems to be isolated with recent versions of the Samsung Galaxy devices (A53 5G & A31)
