Terrain Follow can be enabled to fly a constant altitude above ground level (AGL) based on the ground elevation. Dronelink uses ESRI's World Elevation Services for this data.
Starter or Growth plans are required for Terrain Follow. This feature is not included in Hobbyist plans.
Always make sure to preview the flight in 3D before flying the mission to ensure safety.
Enable Terrain Follow
Open the Advanced menu under the waypoint mission component.
Toggle on Terrain Follow under the Altitude setting.
A pop up will display when elevations are updated.
Use the 3D preview to check the terrain follow path.
Set Take-Off Restriction Zone
When using terrain follow, the take-off location is important as the entire mission plan altitudes have been determined based on the take-off location. Taking off at a different altitude can result in a drone crash.
A warning will be displayed if you do not have a take-off restriction set for the mission.
In the mission plan settings, set the take off restriction to Specific Area. A yellow circle will be added at the mission reference point within which the drone will need to take-off.
Drag the number on the yellow restriction zone to change the size of the take-off restriction zone.
